SG-1 Vest

Another essential part of your Stargate outfit is the vest. It's the Blackhawk Omega Elite Vest Medic/Utility.

It has a pocket on the front of each shoulder with snaps and six main pockets on the torso with velcro. But, since the beginning of the show, Blackhawk has made changes to what the back looks like. So, if you want a canon (exactly like the show) vest, you'll have to modify it. Blackhawk uses a completely different back now than before, and it's attached with buckles instead of being laced down the sides.

So the only way to get the original 'back' would be to buy another vest that has it. A little tip here: if you're planning on doing the Atlantis outfit also, you might as well buy that vest because it does have the right back. That's what I did and now whichever vest I want to wear, I just switch the back and lace it up!

This is the Atlantis vest, which they still make with the correct back used in SG-1. It has three bars of velcro across the back and it's attached with laced grommets on the sides, and velcro straps on the shoulders. You can get it here: ironfoot.co.uk. Go to the shop, type in the search, 'web-tex tactical vest', and it will be about the eighth one down.
You can get the Blackhawk Omega Elite Vest Medic/Utility on amazon.com, as well as lapolicegear.com
I'm sure there are more places to find these vests so look everywhere!

Now for all the wonderful modifying. I will most likely go into more details in another post but for now, here is a link to someone who modified their SG-1 vest, http://www.scifihero.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=6310. And TeeKay gives very detailed steps to follow that made it easy to follow. But be prepared for a long process. It's worth it, though.
