Snow and "Solitudes"

Given the recent weather, I thought I'd post some relevant material...
Let's all be thankful that we are not in this situation right now:

On February 6, 1998, the episode "Solitudes" premiered. In this episode, O'Neill and Carter get sent to a snowy cavern after the gate malfunctions. O'Neill gets injured leaving Carter to do the work of finding a way out before they freeze to death.

As much snow and wind and ice we've been getting lately, at least we're not stuck off-world with a frozen DHD.

SG-1 BDU Shirt

The BDU shirt is mostly worn by SG-1 while they're on base and not off-world.
Take a look-see:

(Notice how Carter's BDU shirt is right-over-left, as opposed to the men's who are left-over-right...I'll post a walk-through on how to modify this shirt if you're a gal.)

I got my "LawPro Super BDU Poly/Cotton Ripstop 2 Pocket Shirt" the same place as the BDU pants: qmuniforms.com -Emphasis on 2 pocket. Some have four, but SG-1 only has two pockets. It buttons up the middle and has buttons on the cuffs to adjust. Whichever size you get, the bottom of the shirt should go below the hip but not farther than mid-thigh.

SG-1 BDU Pants

The BDU Pants are used in just about every episode of Stargate. They are worn by SG-1 as well as many of the workers in the SGC.

By the way, BDU stands for "Battle Dress Uniform". A fitting name seeing as how these pants have endured many Jaffa staff blasts, rugged fights in the mud and dirt, and cold snow!

The exact name for these pants is "LawPro Super BDU Poly Cotton Ripstop 6 Pocket Trouser". Wherever you look for them, type in this name to get as close to what they used on the show as possible.

The BDU pants have a total of six pockets: two at the front/side where most pockets are located, two on the back buttocks and two on the outside of each knee/thigh. If you want pants that are canon, make sure the pants you get have a BUTTON FLY not a zipper. The color is Olive Drab. qmuniforms.com has Black and Midnight Navy/Navy if you want to put together the other Stargate outfits, but these may not be here much longer either so hurry!

Keep in mind when calculating which size to get- these pants are worn at the natural waist, at or just below the belly button, not on the hip! At the bottom are drawstrings to make tucking the legs into your boots easier. The waist also has adjustable straps but I've found they fit well without adjustment. Mine are a Medium-Regular. When I got mine they were only $30. right now, you might find them for less as they are becoming hard to find.

Similar brands such as Propper and 5.11 Tactical will work if you're not picky about your outfit being canon.
