Stargate SG-1 Ma'Tok Staff Weapon

The Ma'Tok staff weapon, known more commonly as simply the staff weapon, is Teal'c's weapon of choice and the primary weapon of Jaffa warriors. It's powered by a small power cell of liquid naqaudah and shoots energy bursts of yellow-orange plasma.

Here it appears in the original Stargate movie:

 

Here Teal'c is using a de-mounted Glider cannon to take down Tanith in "48 Hours", which is not quite a staff weapon but operates similarly:

Here is when SG-1 is convincing a camp of rebel Jaffa that the P90 is better than the staff weapon when it comes to battle in "The Warrior":

"Rak'nor is among our best marksmen." - K'tano

"Ay, you! In the skirt! Get that target swingin' a little!" - Jack O'Neill 

"This is a weapon of terror. It's made to intimidate the enemy. This is a weapon of war. It's made to kill your enemy." - Jack O'Neill

However, the Ma'Tok staff weapon still does pack a punch...

And this is an actual non-functioning staff weapon prop used on the show that we snagged on eBay for around $1300:

 It's clearly been through a couple battles as you can see one of the tips at the top has broken off and one side of the bottom has split open.

All things considered, it's in great shape. It weighs about 7 or 8 pounds and still has the vivid purple paint on it. The material is probably a mix of hard foam rubber and resin. Strap is pure leather with a silver buckle. Here's one image of how some or most staff weapons are pieced together:

These weapons are hard to find now but don't lose hope! There are a bunch of people that make them and sell them online.

It's possible we might be making some in the future as well...
